The Winemaker Alessandro Zanette
One of GIV’s youngest directors and winemakers, he was born in 1983 in Sacile (Pordenone), graduating with top marks in Oenology from the University of Padua, in 2006.
During his studies, he acquired significant experience in Treviso and Friuli area cellars.
He arrived at Melini’s Gaggiano winery in 2007 and immediately started overseeing its vineyard, cellar and industrial management. He also oversees wine production for Antica Fattoria Niccolò Machiavelli. Melini, one of Chianti Classico’s most prestigious and historic wineries tasks Alessandro Zanette with the processing of the grapes harvested in 136 hectares of its own estate and in the 27 hectares of the Machiavelli winery in San Casciano Val di Pesa.
