Morellino di Scansano D.O.C.G

According to tradition, “Morellino” wine takes its name from the Morellino horses, sturdy, dark-coated animals (similar in color to blackberry) that, starting in the Middle Ages, were used to pull the carriages of nobles and officials in the Scansano area. Morellino di Scansano is a wine that makes freshness its trump card. Compared to other important Tuscan reds, Morellino has a slimmer, lighter structure. Its proximity to the sea and the characteristics of the soils in the production areas, which are partly volcanic (Monte Amiata is not far away), give it a fragrant minerality and savoriness that make it very pleasant and easy to drink.
